Travel Agent Benefits
Travel Agent benefits should be considered in your decision to become a Travel Agent. There’s the usual benefits of owning your own home based business such as no boss to drive you crazy, no commute through the traffic maze every day, and legal tax deductions for your new business. But, there’s a whole other set of Travel Agent benefits I would like to discuss with you here. Back before the Internet there were travel benefits that only Travel Agents who worked in a brick-and-mortar travel agency were able to take advantage of. Today, Travel Agents working out of a home based business have access to these benefits also. You can become one of the agents by signing up with one of the online travel hosting companies, studying some manuals on how to do the work, getting your Travel Agent identification card and you too will have access to some pretty amazing benefits. Your new Travel Agent ID card will open up a world of benefits such as: - Negotiated flight fares that can save you a bundle of any of your vacations or business trips.
- Possible upgrades to First Class or Business Class when flying and upgrades on hotel rooms reserved for Travel Agents.
- You will have access to various vacation package deals not available to the general public.
- Discounts on car rentals and entry into typical tourist attractions because they want you to be familiar with and recommend their services.
- Discounts and/or upgrades on cruises aboard the best ships.
- Discounts on all sorts of adventures and sports such as skiing, scuba diving, sailing, raft trips, etc. Again, they want you to be familiar with them so you can recommend them to your clients. It’s a win-win-win deal for all.
-
Familiarity trips
to new resorts throughout the world where they invite Travel Agents to come enjoy themselves with VIP treatment and then go home and recommend the new resort to your travel clients.
- And don’t forget, you can book travel for yourself, your family and friends and earn a commission on each package.
Becoming a professional Travel Agent is all about learning and growing in your new profession and being an independent contractor you get to write off a lot of your travel expenses when pursuing that education. You can get paid and take legitimate business expenses while you’re “going to school” so to speak. This is very common among independent contractors and is perfectly legal and ethical. I don’t think I’d recommend you enter this business just for the perks available but if you do decide to join us and become a Travel Agent it’s nice to know all these wonderful perks are waiting for you.
