The prospecting techniques I used in the past never helped me because I was scared stiff to approach people.
The prospecting techniques I used in the past never helped me because I was scared stiff to approach people.
Prospecting is the least favorite part of any business I've been in.
I've been in a few multilevel marketing opportunities. In every one, selling and trying to get people to commit to join my business or buy something had made me scared stiff.
Travel is no different. Unless you are just booking your personal travel, you are going to need to talk to other people.
Unlike my previous business. I believed the only thing I needed to do was tell people about my referral booking site and people would start lining up to book travel.
For a guy who has been a part of other opportunities, that was pretty naive.
I just decided to go for it and give out my business cards.
Especially to my coworkers.
Now some things are happening for me but it's really my work on this travel website that is allowing me to share my knowledge and pushed me to continue to learn my field.
Two books that have helped me see fear and apprehension in a different way is the Bible(looking at life God's way).
The other book is "Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway" by Dr. Susan Jeffers.
I bought that book when I was working in my first business and
petrified to approach people about my product.
After reading the book I saw that the only way to defeat fear is to do what I'm afraid of.
I learned that anytime I start something new the fear is going to be there.
I guess that is why I'm in this travel business to begin with because after the many MLM failures I experienced fear was as big as a waterfall to me.
I had no intention of ever trying another business again.
So if I've gotten anything from this travel business(besides money)it's that I "can handle "whatever the results I experience with this business (good or bad).
