Proper business tax deductions increases your bottom line and keeps the government from snatching the bottom from your business.

Manage your records properly and your business will be as secure as Fort Knox

By keeping proper business tax deductions, it will keep your business from being interrupted by the government.

When you think of Fort Knox what enters your mind? Money? Gold? Security? If you make the proper tax deductions your business can be like Fort Knox.(Almost)

Now back to reality.(I needed to daydream.)But you can have a very profitable business if you take advantage of some benefits the IRS allows for business owners.

Let's state the obvious. PAY YOUR TAXES!

Keep good and accurate records so if the IRS decides to audit you, you'll be prepared.

If you work with a agency, most will send you a 1099 form at the end of the year.

There are some that don't provide a 1099 because they classify their agents as clients. They make the claim that they overpaid or refunded payments.

Make sure you get a 1099 form and not a W-2 form because you're not a employee of the agency. You're a independent business person.

Plus keep proper business tax deductions.

One of the reasons I became a entrepreneur

was for the tax benefits. I don't know if I should be saying that(too late).

For one, you can save on your home office. Some of your total home expenses can be deducted especially if your customers come to you. The room you use can ONLY be used for business purposes.

Your kids can't find a job? You hire them. Allow them to help keep the office clean or let them file forms. Allow them to do whatever you can find for them to do that will move your business forward and make money.

Pay them and deduct it from your taxes as a expense.

Do you drive? Good. Use your vehicle to work your business. Make sure you keep a travel log and record your mileage and destination.

What about education?Do you go to different travel related conferences? Seminars or fam trips. Imagine going on a cruise for enjoyment but on top of that getting great knowledge on different suppliers who's services you might be selling.

Are you hungry? Treat your client to lunch and discuss business. Find out from a tax professional the right way to use entertainment as a tax write off.

Who knew taking out a loan can be tax deductible?(Maybe you did but I didn't.)Especially if it is used to purchase a piece of equipment that will enhance your business.

How about preparing for your future retirement. Put away those earnings into a nice retirement account. A tax deferred account.

There are many more situations where you can use your tax allowances, phone bills, business cards, stamps, books, magazine subscriptions etc. Keep your receipts because this helps in keeping good business tax deductions.

Hire yourself a good lawyer and accountant to get professional advice and keep your business looking like Fort Knox.
