The followafter is what you do after the inital followup.
The followafter is the name of this page.
Great, you've had a successful booking. there's still more work to be done.
It's the work you do after the sale that can be your most effective marketing tool.
This can set you apart from the regular travel agents who once they are done with the booking, quickly forget the customer exists.
Lets look at the things that you could do AFTER you make the sale.
1.Deliver tickets.
Hand deliver the tickets and other documents if possible.
Most people are not used to it. It also gives you the time to go over the documents with the customer.
2.Go over the details of the booking.
Make sure that you got the facts straight. Especially for cruises and tours as well as if this is the travelers first travel experience. Take them by the hand and go through everything step-by-step making sure they understand.
3.Provide pre-trip assistance.
Help your client with whatever assistance they may need.(Help with passports, visas, immunization, etc.)
You may even volunteer to go shopping for that special formal outfit with your client for that special dinner on board.
4.Customize the trip.
By using your experience or research, you can add value to your client's trip. Maybe a tip on a good restaurant or attraction, etc. You may be able to recommend guide books, historical accounts, etc.
5.Market to their interest.
If a client shows interest in a particular type of travel, make sure they are on the top of the list for that particular product.
Continue to work hard to keep their business.
6. Monitor the booking.
Keep the client posted on any changes to booking.
7. Give them a going away present.
Leave a bottle of champagne in their room upon their arrival.
Clients remember and appreciate this. This act will make them feel special.
8. Be a driver.
If you can, drive your clients to the airport and pick them up when they return.
9. Keep the home fires burning.
If allowed, volunteer to keep an eye on the client's home.
Pick up the mail, feed the pets, etc.
10. Debrief them after their trip.
Find out how their trip went. Find out what they liked or did not like about the trip so you can use it for future use.
Hopefully these tips will help your followafter be as successful as your followup.
